AFTERNOON TEA - JANUARY 10
Imagine a roaring fire crackling in the fireplace, surrounded with fine art and friends.  It's time to let go of the hustle and bustle of the holidays, reconnect with your mom, your daughter, sister(s) or friends and savor an English afternoon tea.  The afternoon tea is a tradition that began in Great Britain to bridge the gap between a light midday meal and dinner which was not served until 8:30 or 9:00pm.   Americans have adopted the afternoon tea as a delightful reason to wear a fancy hat and spend time with close friends and family. Seatings at 1:00PM $30 per person, reservations requried. See flyer

HOLIDAY TEA - DECEMBER 13
Relax and enjoy and afternoon of entertainment, tasty indulgences and sparkling conversation at Madeleine's Place. Take a break from shopping and stress and savor an English afternoon tea with your mom, your daughter, sister(s), or friend(s)! Judith Harris of Steeped to Perfection teas serves up anecdotes and the history of traditional afternoon teas with tasty savore and sweet delights. Seatings at 1:00PM $30 per person, reservations requried. See flyer.


DECEMBER’S SCIENCE CAFÉ

SLEEP and MEMORY

Join us on December 19, 2009 from

10:00am – 12noon for KNME’s next science café, view a clip of Sleep from NOVA scienceNOW, and then join in a discussion with Lee Brown, MD, Executive Director, Program in Sleep Medicine, UNM Health Sciences Center.

 

ADMISSION IS FREE, but a reservation is required.  RSVP to Rose Poston at 277-2396 or rposton@knme.org.  Seats are limited and available on a first come, first served basis.

 

KNME Science Cafes are presented with support from New Mexico Tech, Lockheed Martin/Sandia National Labs, Applied Research Technologies and

the Online NewsHour Science Reports.

MADELEINE'S FRIENDS IN CONCERT Now with new winter hours, enjoy local folk artists at Madeleine's Place on the 4th Sunday of the month. Doors open at 3:00pm, with music from 3:30 to 5:30. Admission remains only $15 and reservations are requested because seating is limited. See flyer
